Organizing for America Listening Tour
6-8pm, Thu. Sep. 3rd
Pougkeepsie (location TBD)
At the Organizing for America (OFA) local Listening Tour stop, you’ll get a chance to learn about OFA’s goals and accomplishments, hear about some lessons learned during the election, and offer your thoughts on how we can organize New York going forward. Your ideas will be used to write a New York-specific plan for Organizing for America. That includes working to fix our deeply broken health care system that has denied many Americans the care they need for far too long.
Sign up now to attend this Listening Tour stop (120 people have RSVPed so far–make sure your voice is heard too!). http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/listeningtour/gpfz73

Public Option NOW! Vigil in New Paltz & Kingston
7pm, Wed., September 2nd
New Paltz, NY:
in front of Elting Library, 93 Main St.
Kingston, NY:
Hannaford Supermarket sidewalk on 9W, 1261 Ulster Ave
From event hosts Barbara & Michael: Please join us in this nationwide action to show Congress that a majority of Americans want a robust public option that will provide needed competition to the insurance industry, lower costs and provide quality health care to all Americans. Single payer advocates are welcome too! The radical right is currently winning this with lies and fear. We need big numbers to show that most want meaningful reform, otherwise the insurance companies will win again. We also hope media will be there. If you’re for single payer, please let them know why.
Sponsored by New Paltz Women in Black, Ulster County MoveOn Council and HVPC
