Tom Predhome of NYC is organizing a bus trip to PA from NYC to press the PA congressional delegation to support health care reform.

Depart from Port Authority Bus Terminal (South Terminal, 8th Ave. betw’n 40th & 41st Sts.). The bus to Easton should depart from Gate 4 or 6. Bus tickets are $36.05 round trip. Return buses are at 4:05 and 6:10 pm, arriving back in the city at 5:55 and 8:00 pm, respectively.

What’s Happening at UCDW’s AUGUST 10 Meeting:

The group will define UCDW ‘s Health Care Reform Principals and our response to congress in the ongoing debate for Health Care Reform.

SPECIAL GUESTS:
Ulster County Executive Mike Hein and
Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum speak to members and invite questions.

Also visiting:
Jim Gilpatric and Jon Stegmayer, nominees for State Supreme Court, 3rd Judicial District

The Democratic Alliance will sponsor a forum on the competing proposals for health care reform. The forum will highlight the central features of these proposals and provide the opportunity for discussion about the pros and cons of each, from single payer to the status quo.

Physicians and consumers will present their perspectives on the deficiencies in the current health system and how to fix the system. All are invited. At the end of the meeting, the Alliance members will discuss how to most effectively support the proposal which merits adoption.

Congressman Maurice Hinchey has been invited to attend.
